Westwood One launches “Steve Gorman Rocks,” a new five-hour weeknight program for classic rock stations, hosted by the former drummer and founding member of The Black Crowes. “Steve Gorman Rocks” debuts Sept. 9 on 20 stations and is executive produced by Cumulus Media VP/Programming Troy Hanson and VP/Classic Rock Scott Jameson.
“Steve brings current, relatable experiences from the rock world to the radio. The guy’s really compelling,” Westwood One President of Programming Kirk Stirland said in a release. “With a foundation firmly planted in the rock music scene and real-time use of social media and live interaction, ‘Steve Gorman Rocks’ will be a talked-about show on classic rock stations.”
The program will include audio and video content from social media personality April Rose. Rose’s past work includes on-camera hosting and content creator for Maxim.com and Playboy.com. She’s also hosted “MTV Spring Break in Cancun,” has been a season regular on MTV and MTV2’s break-out shows “Guy Code” and “Girl Code,” plus VH1’s “I Love The 2000’s” and “Top 100 Hottest Rock Stars of All Time.”
